Q: What is the factory setting for STS engines?
A: The suggested setting to start with is around;
.12
High Speed needle -- 4 turns out from the end
Low Speed needle -- 4 turns out from the end
Mid Range needle -- Flush with the housing
Idle -- 0.5mm open
.21-.30
LSN -- 4.5 turns out from the end
HSN -- 3 turns out from the end
Idle -- 0.5mm open
Please keep the engine temp. not higher than 120°C/248°F.
   
Q: Would you mind telling me the Front and Rear Bearing dimensions?
A: Front Bearing #607 (7mm X 19mm X 6mm)
.12 Main Bearing #6801 (12mm X 21mm X 5mm)
.21-.30 Main Bearing #2514 (14mm X 25mm X 6mm)
   
Q: How to remove the sleeve out from D28M?
A: Use three cable-ties insert from the exhaust hole then turn the flywheel slowly.....the sleeve will be pushed out by piston. 
Q: Friends tell me that the piston and rod should be removable from the crankpin easily after the sleeve is out. But it doesn't work :( What can i do?
A: Use a cable-tie to tie the con-rod and keep the piston at the TDC. Then pull the cable tie from the backplate place slowly. Be careful the piston may pop out and fall to the ground. And when you pull the cable-tie,the crank shaft must be fixed.
   
Q: How to remove the main bearing from the crankcase?
A: Ues oven to heat the crankcase to 250°C(482°F) the main bearing will be loose. Or you can use the industrial hairdryer(700c+) to heat the crankcase. Remember it is the traditional electric oven. Never use the microwave oven to heat any metal!
   
Q: How long I should check the bearing's and connecting rod's condition?
A: We suggest you to check the bearings and rod's condition each gallon. The best is checking it after each running day. When you feel that engine's power lose or overheat,80% is because the bearing worn-out or the connecting rod worn-out. If there is a clearance please replace with new parts. If you can feel there is a clearance that is very big already. The engine can reach 40,000 rpm,any clearance can destroy it by shake. If you ignore it,the crankpin may be snapped soon!
   
Q: Why the pull-start so easy be damaged?
A: Do not pull out more than 30cm. Damage to the pull-start may occur.
   
Q: The new engine is very tight. It is impossible to turn it. How to start it?
A: Preheat the engine with hairdryer or loosen the glow plug when first starting the motor.
   
Q: My engine has a pull-start system. What parts will I need to convert to Roto-start?
A: You just need the Roto-Start Backplate Conversion Set(#280105) which is including all needed parts.
   
Q: Can you tell me the specifications about RPM, HP etc?
A: Till now there is no official laboratory can test the micro engine's horsepower. All manufactories is just estimate the HP and RPM. It doesn't make sense if we know it is a lie but we still list it.
   
Q: What percentage of Nitro is the STS .30 shimmed for?I run 20% ..... do I need to remove any shims?
A: All of our engines are shimmed for 25%Nitro. With 20% you can remove 0.1mm shim or a little more for getting more power. It also depend on the weather and atmospheric pressure so you have to test it yourself. There is no exact answer. Once it works good,then it is a good setting.
